[HQ2] HalfQuake: Amen HD pack
« on: January 18, 2006, 11:41:26 PM »

I thought I might replace all of the models in HalfQuake: Amen, because I got sick of looking at the LD ones. Besides, there are only about five models.

Here's the Sword of Sadism.

(I know the pic is bad, so don't complain)

[Update]

New "Dragons" and alien slaves

I'm assuming you have played HQ2A, the arms in the game are greyscaled hev arms. Besides, I couldn't figure out what else to use for arms. (suggestions anyone?)

You can find information about both Half-quake and the second iteration, Half-quake: Amen, at The Farm.

I always felt disappointed by the Half-Quake series. They never went very deep really. It was too pointless and plotless and some of the design decisions I find questionable. I would have liked if it would allude more towards religious interpretations, or psychology. It would have benefited greatly to just gravitate towards the 'rubber-reality' tradition of certain horror films. Is this real? Is this the afterlife? Is this inside my own mind? Are there others like me or is this all just a purely subjective experience? Half-Quake leaned too much on poor humour as well, rather than setting up a stronger mood. I'd like to see it with more of a horror angle, as the comedy elements never really work. Maybe its the low-res textures and the poor technical aspects in general that throws me off, but the lack of story is striking like a vaccuum in the game.

Thusly, HQ really always felt too shallow to properly work for me.

A great many disagree on virtually all those points. let's hope they dont invade the forum.

Half-Quake was set in an institue where the 'owners' filmed the actions of the people in the institure to entertain the masses. Basically, the most horrible reality show.

I'd pay to see it...
